I am an empathetic and resourceful marketer, storyteller, and dedicated community advocate, currently serving as the Marketing Community Engagement Manager for a mission-driven ed-tech company focused on literacy. I thrive on building strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and effectively leveraging resources to drive impactful initiatives. My passion lies in promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and positive social change, and I am deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the communities I serve.

I was born scrappy, having migrated aged 5 from my birth place of Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, to the cold winters of the north side of Chicago, Illinois. If you’re from Chicago, then you know that it’s controversial to be proud to be from the north side of Chicago, but I am deeply lucky my parents chose this pocket of the city to land in. Growing up just a five-minute walk from Lake Michigan, my favorite body of water, and in a vibrant, low-income immigrant neighborhood, I was shaped by the diverse cultures around me and the nearby strip of antique malls that sparked my curiosity and creativity. This environment fueled my passion for fashion design, which led me to pursue fine arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I later relocated to New York City to study Fashion Design and International Trade and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

Now based in New York City, I’m an active community member, fostering connections with neighbors and local businesses. From knowing my neighbors, to knowing all of my local business owners, it’s really important to me that we all take care of each other. In my free time I enjoy composting (I am a Master Composter), stewarding the land at my local community garden and dreaming of ways we can leave a better world behind for future generations. I live in Bushwick, Brooklyn with my husband and two cats.
